Deadline to book: April 9, 2025
Day 1: West Vancouver to Ucluelet
- 7:15 am – Students arrive at West Van Secondary School (1750 Mathers Ave, West Vancouver) and check in with the DCSA guide
- Ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay in Nanaimo
- Visit Coombs – bring a camera and watch for goats on the roof!
- Trail walk at Little Qualicum Falls – scenic waterfalls in a beautiful forest setting
- Drive through Cathedral Grove and see ancient giant cedar trees
- Hike the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet
- Check in to Canadian Princess Lodge in Ucluelet
- Group dinner (included)
- Bonfire and marshmallow roast on a nearby beach (weather permitting)
Day 2: Tofino / Ucluelet
- 8:00 am – Breakfast included
- Travel to the town of Tofino
- Free time to explore or join the optional whale watching tour (additional cost)
- Alternative for non-participants: guided walk to Tonquin Beach, explore Tofino village for lunch (own expense)
- Afternoon: optional surfing lesson (additional cost)
- Students not surfing can relax on the beach, play frisbee, or enjoy more free time in Tofino
- Evening games and campfire on the beach (weather permitting)
- Return to Canadian Princess Lodge
Day 3: Ucluelet to West Vancouver
- 8:00 am – Breakfast included
- Visit Long Beach
- Depart for Nanaimo after lunch (own expense)
- 5:55 pm – 7:35 pm – Ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay
- Return to school around 8:00 pm
We recommend bringing $20 for lunches and $25 for dinners that are not included.
